Bedrock Books

Bedrock Books supports wellbeing, through reading and sharing, using texts from different genres as a springboard for personal exploration.

In partnership with wellbeing projects, Bedrock Books gifts books and supports reading groups, providing the opportunity to develop resilience and improve wellbeing and confidence. Bedrock Books is a Community Interest Company, established in 2018, by a small team of volunteers.

The Books

Texts can come from different genres including poetry, fiction, biographies and other non-fiction. We choose books which help trigger reflection and self understanding, and speak to inspirational and life-affirming values

Beneficiaries

Beneficiaries include inmates, homeless people, nurses who have been supporting COVID patients, families at risk of domestic violence, and veterans.

Volunteer

Bedrock Books is a CIC completely run by volunteers and we are continually seeking skilled and enthusiastic volunteers to help us to move forward with our projects and reach our goals.

What do we do?

  • We gift books to wellbeing projects. We encourage projects to use the books in ways which support sustainable engagement – reading groups are a good example.
  • We support unique ‘read aloud’ reading groups where reading, reflection and sharing enable participants to discover their innate potential.

‘I am taking away that I have the power within myself to deal with any situation.’
